Nokia has always been at the forefront of technology and has always been a king of innovation. There was a time when Nokia had dominated the mobile phone market for several years. Their new smarter designs and cutting edge technology favored well in the late 90's into the new millenium. What caused Nokia to fall behind was the advent of the smart phone. Although there was a slight disturbance in the force, Nokia has maintained it's role in the mobile phone market and has stepped up from the anologue phones of yesterday to the emerging smart phones we have today.

In their ability to evolve with the changing times, they have created a new device to be paired up with their smart phones and have filed for a pantent with the United States Patent and Trademark office. The tiny device is a sort of tattoo that is embedded into the person's skin. The tattoo works by communicating with the phone through magnetic waves. The phone sends off a magnetic signal and causes the tattoo to generate a response that might be a vibration of sorts.

The Patent also elludes that there might be the possibility of varying the response depending on the caller. Perhaps the vibration would generate different wave patterns or there might be different sensations such as tingling or an itchy sensation. It's not certain exactly what the "ring tones" might be but in any case, this is a cool breakthrough in technology.
